Welcome to Wolferman’s Bakery

The story of Wolferman’s Bakery started in 1888, when German immigrant Louis Wolferman mortgaged his family home in Kansas City, Missouri, to purchase a bankrupt corner grocery store beginning what would become an empire of “Good Things to Eat.”

Louis and his son, Fred—along with their trusty workhorse, Fanny—spent many years delivering fresh produce and canned goods around town. As business grew, Fred took on more responsibility, working tirelessly to make Wolferman’s flourish. By opening multiple storefronts and maintaining an insistence on high-quality ingredients, products, and showmanship, Fred evolved that tiny corner store into a destination that has delighted the public for over a century.

Out of all the irresistible products Wolferman’s team bakes fresh daily, none have stood the test of time more than our signature super-thick English muffins, that Fred and Louis introduced in 1910. They’re still made with the same legendary recipe and adhere to the same standard of quality father and son strived for way back then.

Today, Wolferman’s Bakery works round the clock to make sure that everything we make will leave you with a full tummy, a great taste in your mouth, and a warm feeling in your heart. We make it easier than ever for you to enjoy delicious baked goods in the comfort and convenience of your own home, with the same fresh taste as the day they were baked. And we’re still fueled with the same innovative fire that sparked Louis and Fred to build a bakery that would last for more than 100 years.
